Avery Jo Madden

Avery Jo Madden has arrived a little early, but we are so glad that she is here!

She was born October 22, 2009 at 1:56 PM

She was such a little peanut at 5 lbs 14 oz and 18 inches.

We got to celebrate Halloween together this year, which was so much fun.

Crazy to think that her due date is not until this Wednesday, Nov 11th. I'm glad she was early though because it there is more time to spend with her before I have to go back to work.

Must Love Dogs

As you can tell Travis and I obviously love our dogs - probably more than most people love their dogs. They just entertain and make us so happy when we get home from a long day at work. They keep me entertained when I have to lounge around the house not being able to do anything...I am so thankful for them and their personalities. Honker finally moved outside, which is a great thing because he is getting so big, but I still let him in to play :)

Our friends got married a couple weekends ago and had this awesome groom's cake made.
It made all the duck hunters at the wedding drool. I thought it turned out awesome.

Little Avery

I wanted to post some pictures of our little Avery. She is very active already, just like her dad. You would swear I drink Mtn. Dew constantly as much as she moves. Here are a couple of pictures from the 20 week ultrasound. I kept watching the video over and over again, it was definitely the greatest thing I have ever witnessed. I never thought I would be that in awe and so amazed. This Tuesday is the 24th week appointment - we get to have ultrasounds at every appointment now until the end.

Oreo's 1st Birthday

Ok, I know we over did it a little, but what can I say - I am a crazy dog person. So Oreo turned one last week and my great friend Lacee told me about this bakery that made doggy birthday pizzas. I thought it was a way cute idea, so of course I got one. Travis and I were talking about the pizza and we both thought it would be cute to put birthday hats on them too. I actually found hats with dog paws, so I got those too. Anyways - here are the results. It was pretty amusing and I have never seen such craziness over a pizza.

Dry Canyon Hike W/ Oreo

Travis was exhausted, so I took Oreo on her 1st hike. She did better than I did. I kept stopping and she kept going...it was pretty funny. We both got really muddy since it rained yesterday, but it was great exercise. I need to get in shape so that I don't look like a tub of lard after I have our baby!

Such a Cute Boy!

So Travis and I have had Honker for two weeks now, and he is so much fun to have around.

He has his puppy moments, but they are easily forgotten.

Oreo and Honker are best friends now, they play for hours at a time. It is definitely a good thing since they both end up sleeping very well. We look forward to the fun moments he will provide, and Travis is looking forward to having a hunting buddy. We can tell he loves the water already because I was in the bath the other day and he opens the door, comes in and hops up onto the tub. He can see the water and tries to get in with me. Too cute, he is a character.

Travis and I just got home after a long, but fun weekend in Mesquite, Nevada. The Ducks Unlimited convention was this weekend and we both had a lot of fun. We got there late Friday night, and I was having some sickness issues soooo I went to the room while Travis went to the social party. Saturday was great - 80 degrees and sunny....I got my first tanning session in and got to check out some work by the local artisans. Travis shot sporting clays and almost won...He was A class champion (can't complain about that). Dinner was so funny - there was seriously a guy that looked and sounded just like Ron White. He made the night. We were unsuccessful with the raffle because Travis jinxed us before it started. Overall it was a super relaxing weekend....can't wait for Vegas next weekend.

Honker

We have a new addition to the family, Honker. Right now he goes by Bruno, but when he goes home with us that will change. Travis and I went on Sunday to Jeanne & Wade's house to watch the puppies and see if we liked a certain one...we loved them all of course, how can you choose?!?

Bruno's personality stuck out the most, second to his size (he's definitely the biggest one)

Travis can't wait to have a hunting partner, and I am excited to have some more company. Oreo will be excited to have a friend too. Obviously she needs one after seeing this picture...

First Day on the Boat

Travis and I decided to take are first ride of 2009 on the mud buddy today. It was a perfect day outside, so we had to go. You would think the boat wouldn't be much fun since it's for hunting, but we always have a blast. I'm kind of a nature freak, so to get so close to birds on lake where no other boats can go is awesome. We were going to take Oreo, but she was shaking so bad we decided to leave her behind.

Utah County DU Banquet

Tonight was Travis' Ducks Unlimited banquet that he has been putting on ever since I met him. It was a hit, and more people were there than ever before. I love going to the banquet, but I'm also glad when it's over so that I get to see more of my husband.

It was so nice to have three hours to spend with Wade and Jeanne (my in-laws) and Rhett and Jen.

Prego

So Travis and I have been trying to have a baby for awhile now, and we finally hit the jackpot. We couldn't be more excited, and even though it's bad luck to tell people before your 1st trimester is over, we have told everyone and their mother. I personally couldn't be happier, but I also have some anxiety about a few things. I think I'll be a great mother though, and Travis will be an even better father. Today I hit 6 weeks and morning sickness came right on time....sad. I was hoping I wouldn't get sick, but of course I'm experiencing that as well as a number of other great symptoms. It's alright though, everything will be worth creating the greatest miracle of our lives!
